Broken Forks Peugeot Bicycle WHERE TO FIND?
Hey guys,
I'm new to the website. I've posted because I recently broke the forks on my best friends vintage fixed gear road bike. It's a Peugeot, not entirely sure on the model. I've looking to buy replacement forks and then fix up the paint job myself, does anybody have any information that could be helpful in regards to what sizes i'm looking for, or what I would need to measure. Anyone had a similar experience, any info would help I just really don't know where to star.
Thanks!

Those hi-tensile steel forks are remarkable ductile. Before replacement, I'd take it to a well equipped LBS. They may be able to straighten that for you, provided there are no actual creases in the blades. I've straightened forks that looked similar to that.
When replacing forks, you need to match wheel size; brake mounting style, fork crown race inner diameter, steering column length, steering column inner diameter and steering column threading standard. It's also desirable to get a fork with comparable rake, so that the steering is not drastically affected. Given this an old Peugeot, it's almost certainly French standard and you may have problems sourcing a fork with the unique French threads and steering column inner diameter, in which case you may also have to replace the headset, handlebar stem and possibly the handlebars. This can get quite expensive, especially if you require an LBS to perform the work. In such cases it's often easier and cheaper to hunt out a used Peugeot of the same era, with a good condition, compatible fork.
Edit: LInk to OP's photo gallery.

that is an A08 (bottom of the line) model fork with seamed tubing blades
there is no doubt that the frame is damaged. Fess up to your friend and
fork up(pun intended) the $150 for a replacement used bike
