Schwinn Sprint value?
 

I have a blue schwinn sprint for men, except two flat tires everything is in good condition and comes with a front bike light. For some reason the site won’t let me post photos, so I don’t know what year it is but it says made in Taiwan and number G1284.
How much can I sell it for local pickup?

The Sprint was a lower end recreational bike in the Schwinn line up. The two flat tires are often an indicator of a bike that needs a full overhaul. $25-$50.

Sprint was the lowest of the low, below the Schwinn World. Often didn't even show up in Schwinn catalogs. Yours is likely a 1985 model, made by Giant. If local pickup you mean eBay, forget it. Sell either via C/L or FB marketplace. Ebay is more suitable to higher end bikes, that can be shipped at a reasonable price. I've bought some local pick up only bikes on eBay, the most I paid was $15 (for something better than the Sprint but not great).

No one wants bikes with flat tires, except me. Actually, I am not a fan of flat tires, but I like the discount I get priced wise. Even in a good market like NYC, with two flat tires, $50. In my market, I would just donate it.

Air up the tires, if they hold (even if the tires are really old), you probably could get $75.

G1284 is not the serial number; there's a longer number somewhere on the bike. The G1284 is a common format used by frames made by Giant, means it was made in December 1984, making it a 1985 bike. It was their entry level "ten-speed" bike at the time; the catalog doesn't even list the specs for it, but the wheels and many of the components are steel. Schwinn catalogs, 1981 - 1990 (268 of 456)

There's also a fair amount of rust as seen. It might fetch $50, after an overhaul and clean-up and rust removal.

If you do plan to sell it, photograph it from the drive side, and at the level of the bike rather than from standing level. Stand at least a few yards/meters away and zoom in to frame it, so it doesn't look distorted from being close to the subject.

Clean up the rust, put new tires on it, and it will sell for $125-$150, at least in my area.

It's actually a respectable bike. Fully lugged frame. Some alloy parts. Cotterless crank. Sturdy. Probably made in either Taiwan or Japan. With the stem shifters and turkey levers It's definitely entry level. It's exactly the kind of bike I look for to covert to an upright hybrid city bike. (In ramzilla's secret laboratory). Oh yeah. Ditch the drop bars. For real. Be good. Have fun.

Try pricing it under $100 if you want it to move. Make sure everything is in order.
