Late 80's BIG Pinarello

Here's a few pictures
60 cm TT
63-64 ST
Fully campy 9-speed everywhere, DT shifters
Condition is 'fair +'. It's 'all there', but to have a really nice bike it would need to be painted and have new labels. Small nicks here and there and the chrome could use a good polish.

What is fair for this? I'm on the fence about keeping vs. selling. It was my dream bike as a teen, but now it get only occasional attention.

Nice Pin. Does it have a model name? Looks like a Treviso, which would normally be in SL but I guess because itís so large it had to be Cromor?

what is the Campy group set? I think weíll need a few more pics, but itís probably worth a good amount to the right buyer if you can be patient enough to find him/her.

Cadore?

I poked around the web a bit. The Cadore was more of a mid-level frame made from Cromor. I think it is Campy Chorus, 1988-ish.

It seems like the groupset might be worth more than the frame. It looks like a bit of elbow grease could make it look great again.

Given the Columbus Cromor tubing and Athena gruppo, I'm pretty certain it's a Pinarello's Asolo from the very early 1990s.

Are you certain it has a nine-speed cassette? The frame dates from the era of seven or eight-speed drivetrains.

As for price, I think it's worth between $750 to $1,000 USD to the right buyer. It's a big bike, so the market is limited but these sized Pinarello's don't come up for sale every day and it does have a chromed rear triangle that cost extra. It needs a bit of a clean though and the lack of tires brings the value down.

$200 for the frame/fork/headset, no decals really hurts the price
$300 for the components, maybe $400 if you shine everything up nicely

Missing or incomplete decals are just considered part of the package when buying a used Pinarello, to the point where complete and intact Pinarello decals are generally considered a red flag for a repaint and/or aftermarket decals. Complete and fully intact OEM Pinarello decals typically warrant a premium.

$450ish. I have purchased four Pinarellos (2 Montellos and 2 Records), all of them in excellent condition and I paid less than that for each one.

Thanks for all of the feedback. It does look like Asolo, so thanks for the ID! Seems like the groupset is worth more than the frame; I'll have to decide whether to keep the bike together or not. $450 seems light for a classic italian bike but I haven't kept up with pricing. Really appreciate the help.

itís a matter of waiting for the right buyer. I sold a Treviso with Mirage for $600, so I imagine you could get at least that much. Took me a few months though. Iíd say to the right buyer yours is probably worth more like $700.

I wish I could find a 51 or 52cm Pinarello Montello frame for $450.

This Montello was about that size. I sold it as just a frame and fork about 4 years ago. I am pretty sure I sold it for around that price. I bought it as a complete bike with Dura Ace components.
