1990s Performance Road Bike Columbus Frame

Fellas,
I am itching to buy this thing. Is it worth it?
  • Columbus Matrix Steel Frame
  • Full 6spd Shimano 105 Group
  • 105 Cleat Style Pedals
  • Handmade 105/Ambrosio Wheelset

Bio Pace

It's got a Bio Pace crank. If no bends or dents, it's worth $150!!!

If it looks as good in person (up close) I'd be a buyer. It obviously need a little TLC, but not a lot. A chain, new cables and housing, bar tape and I'd be a happy guy.

Nice bike. Worth the $150 asking price all day long. Doubt it would fetch over $200 but definitely good at $150.

Thanks, guys. I might sell one out of my small collection to get that.

No-brainer at $150.

The Craigslist ad is down. Did you manage to buy it?

I concur. At $150, that would be a good deal even in a pre-pandemic world and it's an area where I'd expect Covid-19 to drive up pricing substantially..

Pedal303 07-29-20 07:34 AM

I missed the deal, guys. God bless America. I'm so disappointed. But oh well.

Too bad you didn't get it very good deal. Also pretty sure this is a late 80's bike since it has six speed 105, biopeace and what appear to be white hooded areo levers with quick release. A 90's model would likely have 7 speeds and black hooded levers and regular 105 chainrings.

Second chance?

It’s raining vintage Performance bikes in Colorado!

This one another good deal IMO although I’m not a fan of the fork. Forte was a Performance house brand so the fork could be original to the bike.

Edit: Just noticed the mismatched rims. If I was buying, I’d be planning on spending $ to get matching rims. Also raises the chances that maybe the fork and stem were added later. IMO, still not deal breakers at the asking price.

Thanks for pointing that out, Plonz. I will probably add that to my watch list and hope for the price to drop. I'm really bummed out I missed the pink one but it wasn't my size anyway.
