Vintage Schwinn?

I like the leather seat on it and not sure if its original.
Can someone tell me the approx. year for this bike and what should I pay for it? Assuming its in working condition. I'll try to make a better pictures later. This is the best I can do now. Sorry and thanks for the advice.

That isn't a leather seat but a Schwinn plastic seat which for me are the most uncomfortable made. Roger

The bike appears to be a Schwinn Varsity. $50 depending upon condition and where you live. I don't know if San Francisco is hot bike market or not.

It can be tough doing vintage bike reconnaissance work like this from a second floor abandoned room. You might try renting a car and pulling up beside the bike or parking across the street. Wear a disguise and don't overstay your welcome, else you will be found out.

The OP caught on camera a rare moment of a bike and car making out in the street. Good work!!!

It looks like the bike still has the original chrome rims and OEM block brake pads. That spells poor braking ability. Seriously, I'd be afraid to ride that bike on the street, especially in a hilly town like San Fransisco with that set up. Varsity is a heavy bike, probably around 35lbs. As stated above $50. I'm not a big fan of the Varsity but there are those who love them.

It’s a pretty green, and it has the best kickstand ever. That’s all the positive stuff I got.

I do not see a small chainring... in SF? Fine if you are riding between St. Francis Yacht Club and the Ballpark along the Embarcadero.

Not worth any money in my opinion unless you have a really good and specific reason for buying it. Nothing against low end bikes, but these are about as bad as they come. I recognize the positives some will list but unless you just love the Varsity from a sentimental or historical standpoint there just doesn’t seem to be a good enough reason to sink money into one. A friend had one converted to single speed and it still weighed around 30 pounds.
