It's going to need some stuff. Tires, saddle, bars rewrapped, full service. Frame seems to be in great shape. $200 would be better, at least IMO.

I would pay $400 for that. Around here, getting out of the grocery store without spending $200 in CA dollars is an accomplishment. I'm sure NYC is far worse.
The frame looks to be in great shape. I would probably put on more sensible gearing and change the rear derailleur for touring. I had a 1981 Miayata 1000, which is fairly similar. It was a great bike.

It all depends on your local market. Prices in NYC are definitely on the high side. wgscott could be right.
It is winter around here, so sales are slower.

$400 is not a bad price for an upper end touring bike particularly in New York. Yes it's worth the price.

make sure the crankset and chainrings spin without a wobble. those biopace chainrings can be hard to find if bent...

This is the kind of thing I was basing my value on. I got this bike today. Granted, it is a less desirable model year, larger frame, needs some stuff, and would have cost you $30 in gas and tolls to get it from Manhattan. But at $100, it was a pretty good deal. I still think $400 is high. If you haven't purchased yet, look in adjacent NJ.

Do you or anyone know the original MSRP of this model? I am interested in the 85-86 model year, specifically.

Thanks very much for your help. Sorry I did not update the thread. I found a 1986 Gran Turismo... my size. So far, very happy with the bike. Thanks again.
