Frame value: MERCKX repaint
Seller thinks it's a repaint, which makes sense. Still looks chromed under the paint.
What's the ballpark for a Merckx frame like this?

I'd guess a Corsa, but there is actually an expert here, perhaps he'll chime in.
It looks decent from 6', not as good close up, IMO. It was repainted for a reason, and that reason pops out in a few places.
If you just wanted to try out a maybe worn out Merckx because you've never had one, and it fits, $300-$400 if the fork is good. I would really want to inspect everything closely. Measure the fork and make sure it will fit at least a newer Record headset.
I would pass, personally.
I would rather pay more for a better repaint for a keeper. Repaints don't bother me, if done halfway decently. I'm not a collector, but like to have a nice looking bike when I ride.

I purchased a Corsa Extra frame on this site last fall with original paint and in good condition. The price was on the low end of the estimate above. It was a 61cm frame and came with headset, seatpost and saddle.

FWIW I found useful decoding information for the Merckx here:
Decoding of Eddy Merckx frames
and here: https://www.millfieldvelo.com.au/dat...-steel-frames/
According to this, the serial is LB 6 TT / C3722.
LB = employee
6 = 56cm
TT = TSX
C= 1990-91
3722 = production number out of 9999
Does that sound about right?

If this is pacific coast cyles on ebay i know the seller personally. I don't see the value in his asking price especially since it's a poor repaint.
