Just take it easy...
This is a Professional built in early 1982 in factory paint (yes, matte black was one of 8 initial colors in EMC) ineptly corrected by the owner

The bike has value, and to a buyer quite a bit of risk. Any or all of the bearings may never have been serviced. I have bought bikes in similar shape, but I have an extensive parts stock, even then $150-350 in replacement parts is very easy to see here.
the respray really dives the value, anyone who is aware will know that for the bottom bracket to remain, it was Maybe sanded then rattle can painted. Ouch.
in Southern California it would move at $300, languish at $600. Markets are regional.
maybe the ex who painted it was out for revenge.

The resident Eddy Merckx expert CyclesMakaron chimed in above and it sounds like the paint is original but touched up.

This exact model most likely sold on my local Craigslist at $1,000+ during the COVID sale boom. Was equipped with Nuevo Record with the same _interesting_ paint scheme.

As it sits I think $400 would be reasonable.
