Trek 7000 vintage

Looks like 1980s bike. Does it look like a youth bike with a smaller frame? Anything good about this gem?

Definitely not a kids bike. It's a small frame. The 7000 was pretty much up there in the Trek hierarchy back in the day. I believe this may be aluminum too. Doesn't look all original though specially the cranks.

Got it thanks. Cranks are definitely not original. What would you think a price range I should be looking for this?

It's the 1989 model. The Shimano Mountain LX group is nice in that it has an indexed 7 speed thumb shifter.

The bad part is that it's been given a recent comfort bike treatment for a rider too tall for the frame. Note the big aftermarket saddle, the huge riser bars, poofy grips, etc.

Catalog here (page 4) https://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/...989_20trek.pdf
