You should post pics for it. The DX-4000-6000 models are very nice, and fairly sought-after. What size? I would guess you could find a buyer here on BF fairly easy.

Depending on the size, you will surely find interest I'm sure. Panasonic is a good brand and all of the DX models I've seen were very well made. The fact it has been updated is fine so long as the buyer is only interested in a rider. You'll need to post photos, etc. Make sure to include at least one picture of the whole bike from the drive side. Then provide close-ups of pertinent details. Disclose anything serious such as dents, rust, etc.

1987 Panasonic DX-6000 II

Really hard to price out a bicycle. This one is NICE!

Oddly sometimes you can get more from a bicycle by just parting it out. OUCH!!!

As to what you might consider selling yours for, I'm not sure, myself. Maybe $350-400 to a fellow BFer, and $450-600 on ebay?

I think johnnyace is pretty accurate, I had a Panasonic Team America full original dura ace (7400 series) and Tange Prestige frame in as good or slightly better condition as yours. I just did a local sale (2019) and originally had the price up around 750 but didn't have any serious interest until I dropped to 550, which i did over the course of a few weeks, I prefer to sell things quickly, less wasted time with tire kickers... A BF member ended up being the one to buy after all and I felt good about the deal, I know he really loved the bike.

I think I would have got a lot more on ebay, maybe even close to 900-1000 if I waited it out, it's a fairly rare bike, but I just didn't want that hassle and you also have to remember a buyer could use ebays policies to return it for whatever reason. Or the bike could get damaged during shipping etc. And the fees. Usually worth it though for higher end bikes.

The modern components don't hurt much, but they aren't going to significantly add value because they are 105 stuff, which is still good stuff, just not as prestigious as Dura Ace or nearly any Campy group.

If I was you, I'd post an ad on the Denver CL with the pics you shared here and list the components and ask about 700, the market is decently high for quality bikes right now. I'd expect to take a slightly lower offer if someone does seem interested. If no one is reaching out, then drop the price. This is the time of year people are getting into bikes so the market won't get much better. If you want to sell it quicker, put it on Ebay with a 1 week auction that ends on a Friday evening, set the starting bid where you think you'd be comfortable selling if it happened to get little interest, can always set a reserve if you don't want to take the chance.

If I was buying, I'd consider picking it up for 250-300, but I'm on the cheap side and know I'd be able to have room in the budget to tweak the fit and buy cables and tires to where I can sell it later for a little profit.

I look at local Ebay bikes from time to time myself for deals like this, a seller uses ebay but really doesn't get the full benefit if it's local pick up, because local pick up buyers are using Craigslist or Offer up or any other source, Ebay is when you are expecting to buy something and have it shipped to you.

Maybe there’s a larger fat-walleted Panasonic cult following out there than I appreciate but for me, I think it’s $350-$400. Probably more like $300 if it didn’t have the STI group. Definitely a nice bike with Prestige tubing, I just see Japanese steel rarely breaking though the $500 ceiling.

I sold my one owner 1982 DX4000 for $550 about 5 years ago. It was listed for a few months but the first guy to come look at it bought it for asking price.
Mine was all Suntour Cyclone equipped with original Araya rims. with fresh tires, bar con shifters, and a leather saddle.
A few here told me I sold it too cheap.

Hey OP, I just shared your post to someone looking for a DX 6000, 1987, on another social media site. That person was regretting having sold theirs! I legit hope y'all connect. This bike is gorgeous and if it were a few sizes smaller I would have jumped on it.

The one quibble I have w/ Panasonic bikes is the very pedestrian lugwork. Surprised to see how average it is on even the DX-6000 the top end model. Doesnt look like an investment cast BB; but, gotta love that Tange Prestige frame. Appears the fork is not however, interesting.

When i was flipping a lot of road bikes I could get top money for 5-6000 and team models. People realy liked them. There is a team on cl at $125 and has not moved in months.

Small frame but I considered it but a nice 1988 Prelude came along and I got that.

thanks so much, hazetguy. Definitely had the intended effect of just painful longing. Heard there are 48.5cm sized Team models from 1985, so maybe that'll help me sleep easier as this is a 21". want so bad still.

One reason i did not look at the Team is it is a 49-50 cm not a 54 cm. I use to ride 56 cm but my body has shrunk 1.5 inches in the last 20 years. The Prelude I picked up is 54 and looks much larger. I road Cannondale's 56 CM for years and most of them had to long top tube as I got older so I went to small 50CM with long top 54 CM top tube and long stem lets me still stretch out. I am 81 and still ride in the drops most of the time.
