Olmo

Hello! I picked up this bike over the weekend. The only marking I can find on the BB is 55, which I assume is the size. A few interesting things with this frame. I'm certain that the frame has been repainted, it's been done very well, with only minor areas of 'orange peel' from excess spray, and new decals on the frame. The 55 on the bottom and areas around the lugs are exceptionally clean, no leftover paint from the past or excess filling in the lines. From a collector friend I'm told the groupset is Campagnolo Victory, missing both the matching pedals and brake levers. Any ideas what the frame model is and what it might be worth? The wheelset is tubular with Ultegra 600 Tricolor hubs and have never been glued, they are perfectly clean and the tubular wheels are new as well. Any information is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks! Johnny

appears circa 1983-84

the Tron et Berthet saddle with Rebour treatment is worth a small fortune all by itself

cycle looks to be a midliner sort of model; the Victory & Triomphe road ensembles were aimed at this

Columbus transfer not shown clearly; possible it may be TreTubi (three tube Sl with Falck blades and stays)

congratulations on a cream puff fined!

Lovely bike, but I never see Olmoís demanding top dollar. I wonder if itís a repaint. Maybe itíll do good as a part out? Iím sure someone would love the frame fork in that color.

Sold my late 80’s San Remo over the summer on Facebook marketplace. $450 IIRC. Full Suntour Superbe group including hubs on freshly built wheels. Sold quickly so I probably left some money on the table.

While mine looks great in the pics, OP’s paint is definitely in better shape. Mismatched components a deduct though. I’d say $500-$600.

Based on the Campagnolo Victory components, in conjuction with dual water bosses and a pump peg, I'd move the date up slightly, to at least 1985. Given, the presence of a front derailleur hanger, it is likely full SL, as opposed to tretubi. At this time, the model with a Columbus SL frame and Camapgnolo Victory was called the Olmo Competition Victory. MSRP was $919 US in 1985.
