KHS Montana Team
Hi all.
Recently bought a KHS Montana Team, I believe it's an '87. Columbus OR frame and original wheels, Suntour XC9000 drivetrain , brakes (front Diacompe); tires have been replaced and I removed some cheap pedals. Handlebars are risers but look as old as the bike, and I think in this case are original too - not sure though. It's been ridden some and shows it but the frame is straight, not much rust.
Not a lot of info available online - found one post here with the same bike but larger, and saw another for sale on San Diego Craigslist that wasn't original. If anyone has the 1987 KHS catalog, I'd appreciate a scan. I need to post a few more times before I can add a photo but it should be in my gallery now. Thanks for any thoughts.

Typical nice, lesser recognized MTB brand from the late 1980s. And as always, value is in the parts, parts can be 2X to 3X or even more compared to the complete bike. I've had a couple of Shogun Team Issues from that era.
I have not seen people put more value to a complete MTBs from that era, on a secondary brand.
Can make GREAT donor bikes if you need the parts, or a great recreational rider too. The Shogun supplied parts to rebuild/update my old Cimarron.
You might attract some interest on ebay. Even then, the parts are worth more. I sold several MTBs complete from that era recently to a collector. Hopefully they will remain complete as the proceeds were less than half what the parts were worth.

A female friend on my advice bought one.
later her boyfriend and her bought matching 6 speed cruisers…
she regretted trading it in- for all of $50.
( shop made out on that!)
from years, should have had the bearings serviced. Otherwise perfect…
she later broke up with the boyfriend and is left with that near useless cruiser.
