Vintage Carrera track bike

Carrera true track frame. Campagnolo (record?) track crank and headset. Cinelli stem and track drop bars.

Campagnolo track dropouts and Cinelli bottom bracket. Octagonal (or hexagonal? Iíll have to go back and check) tube set. No tubing sticker. A touch of pitting in some of the chrome but very minimal.

Wheels spin true but Iím assuming theyíre not original. Dura Ace track hubs laced to Sun rims.

Front wheel sits center of fork when tightened in but it does look like the blades are spread a bit. Not sure if thatís intentional to make wheel installation easier in a race setting.

Iíve bought and sold hundreds of bikes but this one is outside of my expertise price-wise

Wow! That is pretty. From what I gather, Carrera began making frames in 1989, so it is no older than that. On their website they still offer steel frames, but no track models. Deda is mentioned as a brand. That doesn't mean the subject bike is Deda, but whatever it is, it is sweet.

A quality custom frame nowadays goes for $1,300.00 on the very low end. And that is without fancy tubing and lugs. No telling what interest there will be, But to me, as a fixed gear rider, it is very desirable, frame and components and I could see this one going north of $1,200.00 unless I'm missing something.

Thatís sort of the neighborhood I was thinking of. Iím in Chicago which is a big enough city to do a local sale. I just wanted to make sure Iím not leaving a ton of cash on the table by going for a price in that ballpark. The tubing is really unique

Very nice big late 80's early 90's classic steal Track bike with great frame made just before they went to the near freak funny bikes in the early 90's. I would agree even local sale $1200 is not unreal local even with some some maybe changed parts hard to say on the parts sense it may have been frame up limited semi custom shop build pretty common track and BMX stuff from the era.
