1960 Bianchi Specialissma original paint, decals and groupset
I’m in the process of buying a large lot of Bianchi and other vintage Italian parts and this is the crown jewel of the lot. I want a fair deal for me and the seller and was hoping I could get some insight on the value. I can’t post pics yet as a new member but I have some crude pics in my albums but will be getting better pictures tomorrow. The paint and chrome are in very nice shape given the age but the decals show the expected wear. From what I’ve seen there are no dents, dings or another damage to the frame and for itself. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

That's pushing $2,000 in my book. I know I'd pay close to that if it were my size, and I'm a cheapskate!

...there was a guy selling a similar 60's Bianchi (which may or may not have been repainted, IIRC) near me last year. He was still struggling with whether he really wanted to sell it, so had a CL ad for $2,000, that he intermittently activated/deactivated. I happened to look at it, because I was looking at another bike he had for sale. He was the original owner, and at this point it never got ridden, but hung in the garage. We talked about it a little, and he seemed to understand it would be hard to sell it on CL locally for that price.
It's a pretty desirable bike, with a lot of pedigree. The seat lug, with the cast in bullet shaped stay tops is sort of unique to them. The one here was just as clean as the one you're looking at, but local sale prices on this stuff vary a whole lot, from place to place. Not that many of them coming up for sale from the 60's.

There was a red one of similar age up on (I think) Chicago CL, about a month or so ago, ask was $1000. Looked pretty nice and if I were in the market for another one, I would have been interested.
A very early '73 popped up on FB marketplace a few years ago and I grabbed it. Not near as nice as the one shown by the OP, but it turned out really nice in the end.
Those early ones are hard to find. Make sure you check the headset races before making an offer.

What caught my eye was the track frame! I'm not in the market to add any bikes currently but I might make an exception if that one were local.
Good luck!

First of all, I admire your desire to make this a win/win for both yourself and the seller. I have no doubt the Bianchi with the chrome lugs is worth $1,000.00 but I'm not the resident Bianchi expert and will defer to Bianchigirll and others. The condition does appear to be very good which is a huge plus.

I’m in the process of buying a large lot of Bianchi and other Italian road bike parts. I’ll be posting more pics in my gallery as I get them. I appreciate the help from everyone!
