Motobecane seemed to downgrade this model from the 70's to the 80's, going from Reynolds to Vitus.
A full Vitus 172 bike is not a "downgrade" from previous offerings of 531 main tubes and fork. It's a big upgrade, at least for me.

I've owned several Grand Records and Grand Jubilees. One of my favorites was a full 172 Jubile.

Picked this up today at a very deep discount. Too cold out to give it a proper bath, but it's already looking a lot better with a wipe down. Pictures to come. Thanks to everybody for the comments.
