Bianchi Project 3
There's a Bianchi Project 3 for sale in the local classifieds. Looks to be in decent shape and with a decent spec - Deore LX RD, Sugino Cranks, Avid Cantis and levers, and good looking Continental tires. Seller says it 'needs a tuneup' and is asking $50. Anyone who knows anything about these, I appreciate any and all input. I'm a noob with under 10 posts, but I did load a pic of the bike into an album here so maybe someone would be willing to load it into the thread for me.Thanks!

That bike is worth $50 if it checks out. I’d buy it at that price.

Thanks for the assist, shelbyfv. Here's the picture in larger format, along with a couple more I pulled from the ad. Do you think those handlebars are stock? Seems like they have a shim or something at the stem:

Bike will likely require a little bit of TLC, but great bike for $50, these are very nice bikes

You should be driving to buy this bike at that price and ask questions later. I know I would be.

Looks as if someone has done a V brake conversion, I think most would consider that a plus. Lugged steel frame, nice color. I'd be tempted to swap in a modern 1X.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. Sounds like I should jump on this. I did a little reading about a higher-spec one (Project 7?) here on the site, and it seemed like those are fairly sought after. Sounds like this is a worthwhile bike too. I just sent the seller a message. The bike is 100 miles away, but I'll be in that location Sunday so hopefully seller will meet me that day. I live in N. Dakota and bikes like that don't hold any more appeal to the average person than a Huffy would. Just not much of a cycling community around here I'm afraid, but the upside is there's not much competition for used bikes. I bought a pretty nice '70s Manufrance last weekend for $25 and will start a separate thread on that soon. Again, thanks for all the input.
