Univega worth?

hey all, I need help trying to figure out how much this bike is worth. Any ideas? Handle bars are newly wrapped and new leather saddle. Everything else is original and good condition. Paint on frame has a few scratches though. I believe it’s pretty old, maybe a 79 or 89?

Can you post a picture of the drive side of the bike?

In my area, I would expect one to ask $250 or so on facebook marketplace. It seems where I am people don't use craigslist any longer. However that is greatly more than it it is worth here or likely anywhere. A fair initial ask IMHO is $100 and someone would probably be willing to give $75 which is twice what I would want to give. It is a clean bike and someone would like it, although it is a little small.

It's a lower end model from the early 80's it does look clean and presents nicely. I would put the value on a local sale at about $150.

It is in absolutely gorgeous condition. Round about 1987 give or take.
But, It is a bottom of the line bike. If you bought it to flip, I hope you bought it cheap.
It has the correct wheels, so that where I'm going to start. Front wheel is alloy hub +QR, alloy rim, ok. Rear wheel is stamped steel hub and alloy rim +nutted axle. not ok.
Crankset. SR Sakae's low end was the "Custom" line. You have....
Steel seat mast, steel clamp on seat.
The hiten sticker under the top tube on the seat tube as well.
But the biggest item that gives it away as low end is the greenfield kickstand copy.
In my market, under 100 dollars.

I'm in the minority but I like these era appropriate kickstands on hi-tensile and bike boom bikes. Especially ones in close to survivor condition like this one. Having it offsets the missing original saddle and spoke mounted reflectors.

I have one that came off of a Takara survivor I ride frequently for coffee and spins on a nearby MUP. I'm thinking about putting it back on as there has been a time or three I would have like to had it.

You misunderstand. It's the fact that it's a copy is what I'm pointing out.

Low end bike with low end parts. Nutted rear axle and stem shifters. Steel seat post, I'm guessing steel handlebars. Old tires. Nice tires sell bikes.

In many bikes, the word "Sport" in the model name is code for entry level.

Agree with above, FB marketplace has pretty much replaced C/L here.

$75.

Do a quick check on your area's FB marketplace. What are others ASKING for bikes (asking does not equal selling). Do a search by price, say $50 to $100.

That's a little itty bitty small frame bike with really old tires. Stem shifters & suicide brake levers. I love the wheels & frame. I would rip the drop bars off that thing & turn it into a beautiful upright cruiser.

But for now, it's only worth maybe $35.

Be good. Have fun,

It may just be lighting, but the brake track looks rough. Which is odd to me as the bike doesn't look like it has that many miles on it.

Me too, but chances are neither of us is willing to pay much for it.

Those are touring/rando bars, Univega, Centurion, and a few others had them on many of their bikes. They are my favorite bars for touring.
