Lotus 1980s bike
Hi Oh! I hope all is well. I was just wondering if somebody could tell me more about this bike, what I’m paying is fair ($130), and in that case what it would be worse. Thank you very much in advance!

I'm a little familiar with Lotus. This one is Entry to midlevel, this probably has Sansin hubs, I don't know if it is 700cm or 27" wheels
if it is 700cm and correctly works $130 not a bad price, or 27" $85 these sound like a good buy prices from Craigslist
At Goodwill this would go for about $60

I would say yes it is a OK deal at $130 fairly nice frame set with good paint, good basic alloy components and fairly nice wheel set..

The paint on the frame is very good for a bike this age although the pic doesn't clearly show conditon of chrome. Unique is not top of line but not junk either. So $130 is just fair. You might try pointing out the brake hoods and try negotiating lower. Good luck.

The old vintage lotusbicycles.com site is defunct, but the Wayback Machine still has some of the original pages captured.
Here's the page for the Unique. Yours looks to be the second generation, from about 1984 or so - which means it probably has 27" wheels.
