What's This Schwinn Paramount Worth?

it's a hot.little number. I know Paramount's get a lot of love on here. The 58cm may not work but stand over height is 32.inches. Maybe I can adjust the reach. Has a stripped bottle cage holes but no biggie. For that reason I can get it for $300. Watcha think? Pull the trigger?

Well I bought a 56 and it was too small. 57s don't grow on trees so why not a 58? The difference between 57 and 58 is pretty small. Just look down the next time you pee and you'll see what I mean.

....if a 56 cm frame was too small, why in heaven's name would you write " The 58cm may not work but stand over height is 32.inches" ? Are you just trolling again ? I

Your best bet would be to ask Goldilocks, on the Three Bears forum. I don't know if anyone here knows nearly as much about "just right" as Goldilocks. I know I don't.

...I do think that this bike would be just right for you. But again, double check it with Goldi. She's the just right expert.

To answer your question. 56 was a little small. It would take a lot of trouble and the price of the bike to make it right. Therefore...why not try a larger bike? 32 top tube height could work since I have a 33-34 inseam. Seems like it's worth a try. I'm just wondering if $300 was a decent deal and worth the time and risk. If you can't answer that, don't respond. Pretty simple.

There might be a couple of hundred $ to be made if you part it out and sell the DA parts on ebay. Unless you need to stay under the radar with cash you'd do better putting those hours in at Walmart.

That's a 23" frame, so likely 57cm CTC in the seat tube and 56CTC on the top tube- pretty much your size with your stated inseam. 32-32.5" standover sounds about right.
Yes, if it's all there and working properly it's worth $300.
Not sure what iteration of Paramount that might be (or if it's actually a Paramount), but the headset (and possibly the fork) has been replaced (note large spacer below locking nut).
Thus would suggest you check that the frame is OK and not bent as the result of an accident requiring replacement of the original fork.

If you think I'm just trolling, why answer my post? Don't respond. Simple.

Not sure what your definition of trolling is. But I respect and honor the answers. Even the ones that conflict with the other ones.
I was just making a joke about how much crap people get for selling a bike and actually (gasp!) Making money on it. Not sure how that is trolling the people helping me.
Plus it seemed like the bike was going to require work and expense I can't afford right now.

So if I understand correctly.....In order to not make this bike a deathtrap I need to buy a handlebar, handlebar tape, new brake cable, new housing, new dual pivot brakes, new stem? Lol. By the time I do that I could buy a new to me aluminum road bike and come out ahead if I sell the bike.
I appreciate all of this advice but I am going to follow none of it.

...but starting this other thread in the Beach Cruisers forum, to run simultaneously with this one, does exhibit a certain amount of genius.
Does Anyone Own a Retrospec Harper with a Coaster Brake? I appreciate genius, when I see it. So credit where it is due. Kudos.
