Trek 950 worth $100?

Yes, expect it to need a tune up and some replacement of consumables (cables, tires, etc...). Be cautious of that seatpost being seized in the seat tube (make sure it moves), they can be a challenge to free if it is .

For a bike for you to ride? Go check what $100 buys you at the bike shop nowadays.
Repack grease on hubs, bottom brackets, pedals, and headset. If you are lucky you won't have to rewire the bike (cables and casing). From there is just tuning so it shifts and brakes well.
+1 on making sure the seat post is not stuck before buying it.

100% with all comments so far. Though vintage road bikes are my primary interest, non-suspension mountain bikes do capture my interest. The OP's Trek is well worth a hundred bucks, in my opinion, but knowing me, I would attempt to haggle a bit. The possible stuck seat post concern goes for the steering stem also. Anyway, nice bike.

If that Trek was near me and in my size at that price it would already be in the truck. I'll echo concerns about seatpost and stem stuckage, but, yeah!

These are very nice steel frames and often sell for 100+ just for frameset like below on the bay.
Setup bike without issues should be worth much more.
Trek 950 Frame Set USA Lugged Single Track True Temper AT 4130

I think that this is a 1994 bike that is TIG welded True Temper OXII, USA built. Not as desirable at lugged but still a one of the better bikes from Trek at the time. Yes to $100.
