2012 Cannondale Synapse Ultegra Carbon 3
Hey all,
I've my eye on this bike for sale in Canada (approx. $630 USD) as I've always wanted a carbon frame bike and love Cannondale Synapses (I still regret giving up my old alu synapse). This is an older bike, but per the poster has sat in her storage for 8 years as she hasn't been riding it. As it's carbon I'm a little leery even though it looks to be in good condition. If I take it to an LBS for a check up and get the all clear, worth the asking price?

I think it's a fair price. It looks taken care of and good components from what I can see. Usually long periods of storage makes moveable parts kind of sluggish but a tune up will fix that.

I think it's maybe just a little high but still a good value. You may want to mention to them that the tires are 8 years old and will need replacing ($60-$120). You may be able to get the price down on that alone. But it does look good and as long as the carbon is intact so... get it inspected, tuned up and go for a ride.

It's a monocoque frame without lugs, so it should be easier to assess its structural condition as you would be just look8ng for cracks on the surface and not into glue joints at lugs.
But dang!, that period paintjob and graphics sure is loud!
