Picked this up as part of a take it all deal. Its a pretty solid Bike Boom creation, but is kind of unique with Mafac cantilevers and a cottered triple crank. I'm planning on stripping it but thought I'd ask here about its intrinsic value...

they may have been available with both a two-plateau and a three-plateau drive train at this time
final year for the cycle's foil transfer set was 1973
first year this model of Simplex shift lever came into fitment on new cycles was 1971; so that brackets date fairly closely
have a '64 and it is two-plateau with a Reynolds 531 plain gauge frame

I would think $200-250 as is to the right buyer but could take a while to sell. Parted out you could likely get $300-400 and it would probably sell quicker if you up for the work and hassle. It is such a nice example of a survivor boom era bike, looks pretty much original and fully intact except for the RD which is a bit of upgrade and it has some interesting parts, nice paint and it's a touring model with canti's so I would seriously consider fixing it up and selling it intact ready to ride looking nice I could see $300-350. I think it would be a shame to see this one parted out.

The better question would be, what's not made of steel on that bike?
$80 if it's ready to ride.
I'd love to hear how anyone could get $300-400 parting it out, even on eBay. I really don't see how you could get more than $100 parting it out locally.

Well the triple French crank set with matching BB and pedals $120-150. Mafac canti brake set $50, French threaded freewheel $40-60, shift group say $75, nice rack and fenders's $50-75 and then you still have the stem, frame set and wheels which should be worth some money if one want's to take the extra trouble. As said by the Op to get full value may be a tough sale and bit of work. Yet one could just strip it sell the more valuable parts for $150-200 and leave it at that.

I've got 650b Manufrance Camper frame that a lot of the parts will transfer over to. The Gitane frame is too small for me as so that will get passed along. Purple with cantilevers has got to appeal to someone. The bikes tucked away, but it looked like it would fit 38mm tires.

Someone will pay $150 for a used steel cottered crank with steel rings?

Just go to ebay and look up the sold prices for some of the parts.

I don't know... It strikes me as one of those bikes lots of people can appreciate but few are willing to spend money on unless it was the same model they rode in high school.
