Battaglin SLX 56cm with Campy groupset, brake levers etc

Hi

I wanted to get an idea of what my bike is worth, frame has dings as can be seen in the picture and handlebards need taping. (I tried looking up which Campy parts they are). Located in San Francisco, California and moving to Sacramento.

Crankset possibly Chorus

Derailleur and brakes Veloce or maybe Mirage?

Quill Stem is 3ttt Evo

Front hub is Shimano 600

One Rim is Trek Matrix, and think other is Sunrims Venus

And don't think this affects value but tires are Continental Gatorskn

Thanks

Shri

Be nice to have a pic of the whole bike and of the tubing sticker

is the seat post 27.2 or 26.8?

with pics provided, I’d say $250 if it’s an Aelle , Thron or Cromor bike. And with Mirage components, it may very well be one of those 3

$4-500 if frame is one of the more hoighty toighty tubesets (SLX, Brain, Neuron, Max, Tsx etc. )

If you pull the seatpost it is most often marked. If not, calipers. It is 27.2 more than likely if SLX.

Might just be a shadow or paint blemish but Id take a really close look at this line under the BB shell and check that its not a crack.

Pretty rough bike, especially the paint. Wheels don't match. Unless you're attached, I would part this one out before pursuing refurbish/paint/powder coat.

Sounds like he wants to sell it, not restore it. The bike is rough as you say, and mix-matched components. Probably higher odds of finding a buyer of the frame only versus the complete bike, so if it were me, I'd break it down and part it out if you want a quicker sale especially if you are going to sell it outside your local area and will need to ship it.

The frame looks to be a solid SLX workhorse frame, in well-used condition but doesn't seem to have been abused - $250-350 USD. It's not a good market currently for vintage bikes, even those in immaculate condition. However, Battaglin is still around but considerably higher end now than back when this bike was made. So this might add some interest from someone who wants one but certainly can't afford the brand these days.

I don't really place much value on the components but you could price them low enough to interest someone to take them off your hands - $150-200?

You would be hard-pressed to get $400-500 for the complete bike but you don't know until you place it on the market. If not in a hurry, pad the above amounts and drop accordingly.

Just my personal opinion based on recent personal sales and being a fly on the wall to others.

I can part it out, its more I don't want to deal with shipping (though maybe just the frame isn't too bad.

Thanks much for all the input.

S

I would prefer just a sale of entire bike as a bit easier but....
