1992 Bridgestone XO-2, Pearlescent White, 42 cm

This bike came to me in kind of rough shape after having been stored outside for a while, but I got it for $20, so there is that. I have about $140 total in parts into it, including replacement Ritchey Tom's Slick tires and Specialized tubes, Ritchey grips, new bar tape, Avocet Touring saddle (which is stock on this bike), Shimano 8 speed chain and all new cables and cable jackets.

I did service the rear axle (clean and repack with lubricant). Bottom bracket and headset are both smooth. Wheels have a slight wobble, but nothing that effects braking. I did replace the Exage 400LX RD with a 500LX, as the original was roasted and the main difference is the allen head fasteners and pulley pins as opposed to the socketed hex heads on the 400LX.

Frame size is 42 cm. These have the sloping top tube, so its not as small it seems, but I don't think this is for anyone over 5'6".

The pearlescent paint is in very nice shape, but there are small spots of cosmetic rust. Overall, very nice for a 32 year old bike.

So I would love to have some opinions from the C&V experts on what this is worth.

Thanks.

I did not know that some XO models had MTB brakes and shifters.

Yeah. In 1992 the XO-1 had Nitto mustache bars with road bike diameter, so it had road brake levers and shifters. While the XO-2 had MTB diameter mustache bars with MTB brake levers and shifters. The XO-2 went to drop bars in 1993. But Bridgestone was all over the place mixing and matching components on every model during this time. I guess they were low volume and planned to stay that way.

You also live in Minnesota, meaning our hefty Bridgestone tax should allow you to recoup your investment.

I hope so. If the Bridgestone interest is real up here, I may go the Craigslist or FB Marketplace route. Otherwise its off to FeeBay, but that's a lot of hassle to ship a bike.
