Puch made in Taiwan

At a flea market today, I saw a Puch 10-speed (not 12-speed) with a Made-in-Taiwan frame and Suntour Honor derailleurs and stem shifters. Headbadge said "Made for Puch" or something like that. I think the model was a Maxi Luxe, but Googling shows that to be a moped. It struck me that it was a 1970s vintage. I have no pics (sorry about that). One thing that made me shy away was scraped paint on the head tube. It didn't look like the head tube itself was dented, and the fork was straight, but the paint on the headtube looked like it was scraped down to the metal (like maybe it crashed into something).

If it's still there next time I'm up there, is it worth a second look at any particular price?

Sounds like a really bottom end bike. Did it have alloy rims and a cotterless crank? Probably not.

I would pass.

I think it had alloy rims. I can't remember the crank. Since I posted originally I've found enough online to back up your assessment.
