1980's Basso Value
I am thinking about buying this bike from a friend. and was wondering if 400 dollars is a good deal. Here is the specs he gave me:
Retro 1980s model Basso in very good condition.
Beautifil original red paint and decals,
Modolo brakes,
Columbus Steel tubing-
Durace rear derailer, 7 speed freewheel, and Durace down tube shifters,
Shimano 600 front derailer,
Rino double Chrankset,
Good strong spoked wheel set, front has Campy hub, rim ???? back has Campy dished rim and nice high quality hub, but not sure what brand,
44cm bars, good tires.

Price sounds fair for both parties. Around here, as you get into this price range, the buyers dry up. So sometimes/often the best values are the higher end bikes (people have no problems paying $150 for a gas pipe boomer bike).

HI -
I have the same frame - great bike. If/when you get it would you mind posting some detailed pics, etc? I've been trying to identify mine and would love to see some pics - also, is there a serial # on the BB? Also, what does the Columbus sticker on the seatpost say? Mine's worn off!
Oh, and $400 is a good price I think - I paid $400 for mine 6 months ago.
