What to do with this Chrome Gitane Traveler?

I was told I should ask this over in this forum. On this Chroem gitane would you part it out or would you keep it whole. It has phil wood hubs and I was wondering if it would be better to sell the wheels with the hubs seprate form the bike since they are not original to the bike. Also any idea on what a gitane traveler in this shape might be worth? Thanks for any help. Matt

cool looking bike. that stem looks like a faucet. if you really need to sell it I would try and do my best to sell it whole. I don't think it is all original but stil try and sell it whole.

I would try to sell the wheels separately, as the bike itself will not command a very high price (its a project).

Does anyone have any idea what model this is? I just saw a very similar bike (all chrome, same decals). If you'll notice, the seat tube and down tube meet in front of the bottom bracket (wtf?) and it has the huret honeycomb/spiderweb/whatever rear dropouts. I'm rather fascinated...really looking to figure this one out.

Oops...it says traveler in the title. I guess I should learn to read.

I still can't find much on google. Any input on build/quality/value?

You can find it in the mid 70's catalogs on GitaneUSA.com.

The bike was made supposedly to be easy to travel with, hence the name. I don't know if it dissasembles easily, or what the deal is.

Chrome looks cool, but IIRC it's not any special tubing.
