Colnago Superissimo on Craigslist
This has been on the Atlanta craigslist at least twice:
https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bik/1510838768.html
Seller says that there's a front wheel to go with the rear shown but isn't specific on what it is. Asking $175 for the frame, cranks, BB, seat post, and wheelset. I shy away from Italian bikes but this seems like a decent deal. Any info on how good of a deal?

no fork = less of a good deal, because replacing that fork will probably cost as much as the rest of what you get. and to build it up another $250 including tires, tubes, saddle, stem, bars, FD, RD, brakes etc, so you are looking at a $600 bike easily... and that's with Shimano 600 components.

I would do it. Worst case...colnago frames of any pedigree fetch a premium on ebay. Definitely a worthwhile investment imo
edit: missed the lack of fork. ask what happened to it. seems odd he has the front wheel but no fork...crash? replacement front wheel?

That would not have lasted here for more than a day or two. I'd inspect the top tube and down tube for damage. If none, buy the bike. I just saw a nice chrome Colnago fork on the local CL for $75 (asking) three weeks ago. Nothing wrong with Shimano 600. It was fine for everyday riding, fine for racing. Do you really want the bike though, as you sound a little luke warm about Italian bikes? Offer $125 knowing it may take time and dollars to put her right.
Also, I think it is fairly easy to find 600 components. A riding buddy just bought a complete gruppo for $90 to put on his Cross Check.
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...504694885.html 600 gruppo $140
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...481220511.html Brake levers $10
https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/1498860347.html Colnago Fork $30 Might be too short though.
There is a used Thomson seatpost ($30), a used Rolls saddle( $15), used Cinelli bars,Model 64 I think/1a stem ($40) at a local shop for $85. You can't have these, cause I'm buying them. Deals are out there with patience.
Tires at PBK. Choose your flavor for another $80.
Add it up, not such a bad ride for a little scratch.

+1 Check carefully for damage, as the fork is MIA for a reason usually. If you are convinced it is damage free, then snap it up. Its a pretty good deal.
