Barracuda A2R
I know very little about older mountain bikes and am not able to post photos at work (no access to photobucket). I'm talking to a guy about a single speed Barracuda A2r with a chain tensioner which he says is butted cro-mo. Asking price is $200...is this a reasonable number? It doesn't have to be the deal of the century, but I don't want to get killed either. I've seen photos and it's in very good shape, lightly ridden and won't need much in the way of initial parts/adjustments.

Older MTBs are rarely worth $200. I pick up decent or better ones routinely for a small fraction of that amount. I would pass. Old MTBs just don't have much value, unless it is something super special.

Here are the specs from 93-98 from bikepedia: https://www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/B...=A2R&Type=bike
Cost was $6-700 new. I think that $200 will not kill you (esp. if it is a later Deore XT bike) you could probably do better.
