I am not sure what year the LeTours switched to Chromoly... If it is Chromoly it is a no brainer. If it is Hi Ten steel, I think it is still worth a look.

+2 As long as it does not have any serious defects, its a really good deal. Double butted cromoly frame, alloy rims and crankset, mid level Suntour derailleurs.

It's a 1984 model, and it does have a full chromoly frame w/double butted main tubes.

This bike looks in great condition. If you will ride it, yes $100 is a good amount to spend.

I had a Super LeTour, same year, same frame. I sold it because the paint was completely shot. Otherwise it would have been the one Schwinn I kept. It rode really nice. I'd rebuild all the bearing surfaces, tighten it up and add new tires then true the wheels. You'll have a bike that rides really tight and smooth. It was the nicest Schwinn I ever had, way nicer ride than the slightly lower level Schwinns I also came across. Buy it if it's your size.

That should be a chro-mo, as my red '84 was like that. $100 is good. If it fits.
I sold one to a Coast Guard guy for $125, threw in spare tires and aero bars because he was so enthusiastic.
He beat me in a triathlon about 3 months later. Sucker could really swim.
