mid-late 1930's? Cleveland Welding Company bike

I have this bike on C-List but don't know what to ask? I'm almost pos that the bars, stem, pedals, paint and tires are not orig but all else is, it has a history in the Fishtown section of the city of Philadelphia as it was sold thru the "Supplee and Biddle" hardware store that was losated in Fishtown, anyone have any clue as to the value?

Absolutely no clue about its value, other than the fact that it will at least double with an appropriate (or close) saddle on it... One of those double sprung leather ones should do the trick (and sometimes you can find them in the $15 range in usable condition.)

Because of the historic value of the bike, you might want to go a different route other than CL to try to reach interested people. I am not sure about historic bike clubs in philly, but I suspect there is something of that sort; ask to see whether they have a newsletter or whether you can leave a couple of flyers with your bike (good old bulletin board style...)

good luck, this looks really interesting.

I do have one, the leather top is missing but I do have one! triple sprung and in crazy good shape besides the leather top thing, the saddles in this house but the bikes at the other house, someday soon, maybe even tonight or tomorrow I'll put the two back together.

That's what I meant with double sprung... like this Brooks B33

thats almost like the one I have but mine is orig, like a "pan" type saddle, like the ones on old motorcycles, and not a Brooks, I thought that each spring front and back were counted, thats why I called mine a triple, two in the back and one up front. :o

Yeah, what you have would probably be close to the original for that bike. Those seatposts are kind of a PITA because you have to try to insert the saddle horizontally

it was on the bike when I got it, I took it off to see if I could get it redone, but I changed my mind, it was pretty easy to take off though.

no other members have an idea of what I might be able to ask for the bike?
