Bridgestone rb-2
This is kind of Random, I know NOTHING about road bikes and have never ridden one. My friend left me a Bridgestone RB-2, purple and white. Everything is original and is is almost brand new condition, besides the tires being flat?? I do not know the value, year or even the size of the bike? I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but that is why I am posting this!! If you could help me that would be great!!..and be easy on me for not knowing anything
Thanks

The size is likely stamped on the bottom of the bottom bracket...last two numbers of the serial number (at least, that is how RB-1 is). There should be names on all the parts, brakes, levers, shifters, derailluers...that will help in ID. Photos are best.
You can find a ton of information about the bike here:
https://www.sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/index.html
It's most likely a 1992. If I am correct, they changed the colors every year, and this says 1992 RB-2 had a purple metallic:

Post some photos, that will be the best tell.

Pics will help. Bridgestone rb-2 was second best road bike they produced. I don't know much more. Bridgestone in general went from rb1 to rb-3, with 3 being the bargin. The moutain bikes used the same number idea but with a MB#.

Basically you have picked up a very nice bike that is likely to be worth a reasonable amount; not like you've hit the lottery or anything, but some 100s. I have owed an RB-3, which I actually gave away last year! And a 400, which I traded for a professional photography shoot for my daughter a few months ago. Bridgestones have a bit of a mystique that adds value to them. You''ll hear about it in these posts I am sure.
If the size is good for you, then you have really nice bike that you can use to get into road biking. If it's not your size, I ride a 58cm...

I know you are new, so they should be fairly lenient, but you aren't supposed to ask for the value in this section of the forum. Normally, they will move you, but since you already have another thread going in the valuation thread, just wait for an answer there.

If it is a good fit you can always use it for short trips or riding with your kids. I know riding a road bike can sound like playing some sport, but it is just a bike. (A really nice functional bike at that.) So if there is any chance your kids may want to tool around on bikes with you someday you may want to keep it. It will cost a bit to replace functional wise with another.
With that said I see you probably don't want it. You can figure out what the bottom bracket is by looking where the pedals pass though the bike frame. If you flip over the bike you should be able to see some stamped numbers on the bottom bracket. Take a picture of those in a way you can read it in the picture. That will help everyone. also take a picture of each part bolted onto the bike. I could list the names but it is easier this way and the other will only save a few pictures. If you see a label of any sort take a picture of it. with all of that, others will be able to help you.

Very NICE bike, now just where are you located,, You are thinking of selling?

Dropped
I sold an '88 a couple years ago for $200. The frame was in considerably worse shape than yours (the paint on some of these Bridgestones is awful), but I had completely overhauled and tuned it, so it was ride ready. Because there's a fairly strong market for Bridgestone bikes from this era, I think you could reasonably expect $200-$250.
Looks like your frame is a 56cm.

I will say this. Monitarily this bike is not worth much, however, as Bridgestone owner... it rides SOOOO much more than it is worth it is unbelievable. These bridgestone can take a beating and are extremely well made. the MB4 I have gets more than abused and has never given me a problem.

Well I had a road bike for awhile before I understood it's value as well. I all I have to say about it's value is that, it will cost a bit to pick up a bike as functional as that bridgestone. You won't be able to sell it for as much as it is worth. I hope that makes since. In other words it's monitary worth is not near as much as it's functional use, worth.
One good way to find out how much you can sell it for is to, make a craigslist add and don't put a prices just ask for offers. It will give you a range of how much people are willing to pay for it in your area.

Note, to sell this bike anywhere (Craigs List or ebay), you are going to have to learn some of the basics. The size of the bike, take great pictures, and so on. That will garner you the most when you sell a bike. The less information you provide in selling the bike, the less you will get for it. I bought a bike yesterday that the only description was the color: Orange Trek. Nothing else, no pictures even. So I ended up with a great deal. But the seller could have done a lot better.
You have a really nice bike in excellent condition, so it should sell for a good price!
As far as learning the things I describe above, its just a matter of spending a few minutes on google. The effort will be well rewarded.
During riding season, that bike looks like $300 to me. Right now, bikes here are selling at well below riding season price.

We sold a very similar bike last summer on the Mpls. CL for $300. Took two hours. Probably didn't charge enough, or maybe I just got lucky and hit the right buyer.
