73 Paramount frame and drive train

I have an opportunity to buy this partial bike. The frame appears to be in good shape as do the components, but it clearly needs some investment in quality parts before I'd have anything to ride. I'm not sure what I should be offering for such a work in progress. Where would you start?Paramount 2.jpgParamount 1 s.jpg

You're pretty much short only a Cinelli handlebar, Campagnolo post, Weinmann 999 brakeset, rims, spokes, and a freewheel. $300 minimum.

There are a few ways to look at it:

Whats something like that worth complete? $600, 700, 800? Are you better off buying a complete bike? Whats it going to cost to complete? Completed to Schwinn spec could upwards of $400. Completed to 'whatever' spec may only cost $200.

Whats it worth parted out?

F&F $200
Crankset $75
BB: $50
RD: $45
FD: $25
Shifters: $20
RH: $30

I think thats $445. Would I pay $445 for that? No way. Maybe $250. As Riick from PawnStars would say, "I'd love to buy it but the price just isnt right. I need to turn it around and make a profit". In this particulari nstance your trying to keep the overall build cost lower than what a complete bike will run.

$250-300. Not a penny more.

The idea here is to have the completed projects price come in lower than what ready to ride bike would cost.
