Womens Phillips bike. Need help with the year and possibly it's value.
Ive been fixing up old bikes for years and the best ones that I find are the old barn finds. Well my uncle had some property with some pole barns and decided to go through them hoping to find an old schwinn or
raleigh. I came across this old Phillips womens bicycle and am having some difficulty getting some info on it. this bike is in excellent shape for how old it is. has alot of scratches but no rust. the rims are true and the bearings are smooth. It is a single speed with a Resilion coaster hub. Also has cotter cranks. The brand name is part of the chainring. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would.

From Sheldon Brown, it may be a pre-1960 Phillips, from your description of the chain ring. What does the frame look like? Straight or loop frame?

Ok, I looked at the pics. I'd guess it's pre-Raleigh from the headbadge.
Are there any numbers on the frame or on the rear hub?

What I have seen- the old rod-brake bikes will go for $300-$400 in men's frame, 1/2 or 2/3 that in women's frame.
The 3-speed English bikes with rim brakes go for $50-$150 or so. In other words, not especially valuable. They seem to get sold as user bikes, not collector items, so age is not especially critical. For some reason, "pre-war" seems to be a big selling point on American balloon-tire bikes, not so much on English bikes.
I would think a coaster brake version would be in a similar price range.
