1988 Specialized Comp Rockhopper.
I picked this up off of Craigslist this afternoon not knowing anything other than it was a Specialized Comp Rockhopper and upon getting home I started looking around and looks to me to be a 1988. All Shimano Deore components with an interesting looking rear brake and it has the original tires on it, the thing is very dirty but in pretty good shape its covered in a brown coating of dirt? mud? just build up from sitting? I don't know but it scratches right off with a fingernail and the color is under it.
I haven't done anything to it yet but I did snap a few pictures that I thought I would share, this worth doing anything to more than just cleaning it up and letting wify ride it around? (its too small for me) or is it worth trying to get a few bucks for? any info and or opinions are appreciated and welcomed
Thar she is

Rear brakes are underneath and have a little gizmo that says Shark tooth on it that seems to keep the chain where it needs to be.

Front Brake

Front Derailluer

Rear Derailluer

Crank

Front Hub

This is the rear rim, both are marked GX28 along with this

Rear hub and cassette is Shimano as well but I couldn't get a good picture so its left out, the entire bike looks original to me.

its a great bike, but mountain bikes don't fetch much but make great commuters, whatever you do clean it up first.

Don't know what you paid, but the going price for a rigid fork MTB in good riding condition is $125 around here. They've actually gone up in value over the last year.
