AD Puch Pacifica-worth asking price?
Asking $300. Pics are from ad. Also on ebay with start bid of $250. Where does this model fall in the line up?

Like no f*&@'g way. Lower end bike (but not the bottom), stamped drop outs, nutted rear axle, no frame rear derailleur hanger, rusty chain, dirty, no bar tape, chopped off side stand, etc. In current state, it is a project. Projects of this level around here sell for about $50, or less. Finished it might go for $175.

Thanks-seller adament on rarity and that the frames go for $700 on ebay. I said 'its rough'; he said 'really just needs tires'. No sense arguing.
Thanks for the quick response.

I have gotten parts for bikes similar to that one at the local bike shop, off the internet from various bike supply companies, from ebay, Craigs List, donor bikes, co-ops, garage sales, church sales, neighbors, Walmart, etc. In short, just about everywhere. What part(s)?
I am building up a 1983 Japanese bike right now. Freewheel came from Walmart.com, chain from Niagara Cycle, derailleurs off ebay, tires from a donor bike, bar tape and brake levers from Nashbar, ball bearings from Niagara, grease from Walmart, clean up material from Dollar General, crankset, bars and stem from a donor bike, bottle cages from Niagara, bottle cage bolts from Fastenal, cable housings from Niagara, cables from ebay, tubes from Pricepoint, etc. I am also working on a 1979 French bike, pretty similar to identical supply sources.
Do you need to buy from all of these sources? Absolutely not. Most of what I bought above could be found at a local bike shop, but I buy quite a bit of stuff, so the savings is worth dealing with all the variety of sources. It would not be worth it if I was just working on one bike.
The only thing Puch/AD built on that bike was the frame, and unless you wrecked it, you should not need that part. Everything else came from the same suppliers all the rest of the bike manufacturers used.

Well I just bought the bike two days ago as my first road bike. I kinda wanted to keep it OEM and stick with what parts that where manufactured on the bike.
Thanks a lot for the resourses! I've yet stop in my LBS yet. Its about a mile north of me but I'm sure they are closed being labor day.
