1980-something Schwinn Le Tour Luxe

I bought this Schwinn Le Tour Luxe off Craigslist (mainly to get the unused Sidi shoes that came with it) for $75. I'm trying to figure out when it was made (seller didn't know exactly) and get a ballpark guess on how much it might be worth.

It has down-tube shifters and 15 speeds (3 x 5). It is pretty clean, although the cassette is a bit gunky. The frame is generally in good shape, except for some scratches by the cranks.

I've posted a bunch of photos on my flickr account.

Here are some of the better ones.

That is a real nice bike, must be worth double what you paid for it, and you get to keep the shoes!

Totally cleaned up and ready to go, maybe $275 around here. Google Schwinn date code, its on the head badge.

Try more than that :) but they do not sell for this much, because of the Le Tour name (usually associate with the bike that was 2 steps above Varsity). This is probably the most incognito Columbus Tenax framed Schwinn bike.

+1 Unfortunately the LeTour name suggests a lower end bike. So a buyer would need to understand that this is not a lower end bike at all, its a decent vintage touring bike. Touring bikes sell at a premium to equivalent road bikes.
