Condition is everything. Anywhere from $200-600 with a dent clearly putting it in the lower end of the spectrum. What size is it?

If it didn't have that dent it would hit $600 on eBay, no problem. People go nuts for sweet ol'Merckx frames, even ones that are in rough condition.
But yeah, I would say the seller could still get at least $400 with the dent so $250 is a good deal.

$250 is a very good price... but that dent... Think about taking it to a local frame maker for repair. It would be a great investment. If you do not have a local frame maker, I would highly recommend Spectrum Cycles here are their repair prices (they charge $15-$75 for dent repairs) and the person who would do the work is Tom Kellogg of Ross Signature and Merlin fame...

Thanks for the info, E...very helpful....the seller told me he's "somewhat flexible" on the price...so I might be able to snag it for a bit less than $250...I think I'm going to take a look at it....

The seller will give me the frame for $200, plus throw in a 120mm ITM titanium stem...would you pull the trigger? Thanks!

I'm really weird about dents and dings...and the people above saying buy it probably know a lot more than me...but I'll give the dissenting opinion:

I would absolutely not pay hundreds of dollars for a bike with a ding in it...I don't care who made it. I wouldn't buy a Hetchins with a dent.

Take your time, take a deep breath...and wait for a better deal with a bike that is whole.

Tx again, I love seeing how far off most of these are and I would have been in the "do it" camp, no brainer for one this size, in other words, my size.

That dent is pretty deep but likely isn't going to ruin the ride or structure of the frame. Collector value is voided but it would make a great rider and $250 is fair but a bit on the high end bc of the dent. without the dent, the frame is worth $500 or so.

Not sure what I'd do. I'd like that frame (and it's my size-ish), but that dent would definitely be making me wonder about it.
