Vintage Track Bike
A buddy of mine found this bike at the local swap meet. He picked it up for $40 and wants to know more about it, as do I!!!
From what I know its a "Drysdale". Has tubular tires. It has WCS Stripes. It's not in the best shape but still has to be worth something. It came with the GT seat  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4/e2f61dd8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4/7e5d192f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4/30605c21.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4/56d95595.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...4/c0151b56.jpg |
major score if it is a Drysdale.
Builder was Alvin Drysdale, one of the premier U.S. Builders. I believe that Albert Eisentraut learned his craft from Drysdale. You can find additional information here (and some photos) : http://www.classicrendezvous.com/USA/drysdale_alvin.htm Marty |
Those hubs are amazing ! Probably worth a bundle by themself although I would not advise parting out this bike.
|
Stem does not look original. What ARE those hubs? And is that a drilled seatpost? You scored.
|
Those are Prior hubs. Worth a few hundred on their own. a NOS pair went for $450 last month.
edit: stronglight cranks, prior hubs... that pivo stem is in the right place. |
