Lotus Bike, is it worth it?

https://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/bik/1710788711.html

I fairly new into bikes and I have been on the hunt for a few weeks for a new road bike. I am wondering if the bike in the posting is worth the 300 that is being asked. I am unsure of the model, but after some searching I have found that Lotus has made some nice bikes. So please help me out.

thanks

Not sure about this:
7sp is good, because it means DA, 600 Tricolor or Sante components. I cannot even guess about the components from these pictures.
On the other hand, the DT shifters look painted pinkish, which makes me think that there is some rattle canning involved with the frame as well

I don't know... If it were $150, I'd go and have a look; but I think that you can do better with $300 in MI these days.

thanks for the reply, I am just getting discouraged since I have been looking for a while now and I have missed some really awesome deals. I guess I will just have to patient for a little while longer

I'm not sure about your market but I think for a smaller one it's probably a bit over priced. I would still have a look at it if you have time. There's always room for bargaining and it could turn out to be a better deal than you think

Man, that ad was difficult and frustrating to read! I would have a look at it. I don't think anything has been painted, I think that is just a photo trick. It may be higher in the lineup, just judge by the components hanging on it. You can decide how much to haggle when you see the actual condition.

7 speed could be RX100 or 105 too. Personally I love the color scheme. If:

1) it has these components or better
2) the frame is something akin to Tange Infinity or better
3) it fits you like a glove and
4) it's in ready to ride shape and you don't want to fool with a project

then IMHO it's worth it. Lose any one of the 4 above and probably not...

Needs a white bottle cage desperately though, bargain that into the mix

I'm moving this to valuations. I figure the seller would take less than $300. Maybe offer spelling lessons

1. Determine whether it is rattle can paint, or original.

2. If it has Shimano 600 components, its worth it. If it has Shimano 105, it is not worth it.

3. Poorly written ad can mean very little competition from other buyers. The worse the ad, the higher my interest level. Make an offer.
