Ross Signature 294S Campagnolo equiped value
I have a Ross Signature 294S with the full Campagnolo group & I'm wondering how much I should ask for it when I sell it. I'm thinking around $300.
Take into account the tires & pedals are not original-the tires are Michelin Carbon slicks & the pedals are late 70's Campagnolo Grand Sort. The seat is original but in rough shape. The frame is 024, straight, paint is shiny but has numerous retouched small scratches. Al the Campy parts are in good shape & very shinny. In general I'd say it's a 7 or 8 on a 1 to 10 scale.
Any in put would be greatly appreciated.

They're extremely nice riding bikes. They're also very well made, at least mine is. The problem is they're also a Ross, a brand that doesn't exactly have a fanatically devoted following (CF Masi) and is far better known for entry level bikes.
I recently traded a Celeste Italian Bianchi frame (albeit Tig welded) for a 294s frame. I considered it a steal, but I'm in a very distinct minority.
250-350 I would think is the range. You might add 50$ to that valuation because of the small size.

Thank's for all your input. I've listed the bike on Ebay with a low opening bid & reserve price based on your inputs.
Auction ends Sat. May 15th, 2010 @ 10:20 PM EST so if you want it bid early & often. THANKS!

I hate reserves on auctions. So I either start them out relatively high (which acts as my reserve), or I take my chances on "hot sellers" and start them out at 99 cents. It will be interesting how it works out for you. I do not have enough data to know for sure what approach works best. Good luck with the auction.

I've participated in eBay auctions as a bidder where there was no reserve and the starting bid was low. With slightly more than 24 hours to go, the high bid was still attractively low and WHAM! the unscrupulous seller pulls the item from the auction. A legitimate reason for canceling the auction would include selling the bicycle through a different means, but being unhappy with the lack of a bidding war up to that point is not. The odds are stacked for the seller.

Final word on this bike. I got $300 for it on Ebay auction plus $60 shipping so someone was willing to spend $360 to own this one. Hope this thread is usefull to someone else as a price setting guide for these bikes.
