got a guy with a centurion super lemans in his front yard for sale near me

he is asking $55

it appears to be in my size but im not 100% sure.

looks lto be late 70s to early 80s.....lugged....pinstriped forks....

Dont know much about it....

Probably would need to be gone through completely because it looks like it has been sitting a while.

Worth the price?

uh $55?
yes.....duh. If you know how to tune up a bike it's worth it. if you're going to pay $150 for a shop to do it, then no.

i would try talking him down to around $40, especially if it needs a new wheelset.

ya the wheels have got me a bit nervous. I can do all the other work. im constantly overhauling bearings, hubs, headsets, cranks etc. That doesnt worry me in the least.

Thanks for the great info.

+1, $40 is a fair offer for that bike. If he refuses, you can sleep at night knowing you made a fair offer and didn't let one get away without an offer.

its the round gold head badge...not the longaged silver one.

It had super lemonds on the on the chain stay.

i couldnt find a pic of it on that thread. I looked earlier today. I know it didnt have cottered cranks and im pretty sure the mid 70s ones did from reading the database thread...

Sheldon Brown's article on Centurions is pretty informative. I'd go for it, myself, especially if you can get it for $40.
