Medici Pro Strada
I'm planning on checking this bike out, and wondering if I could haggle the price down.
https://sgvbicycles.com/index.php?rou...product_id=744
Is the price about right for the components and frame?

mmmm. I take it SGV means San Gabriel Valley, CA? if so, it's a fair price if everything is perfect, no issues with the frame or any components and ready to ride. And it fits.
Otherwise, it's a little high...and if it doesn't fit: forget it.
These were built in LA, and the quality varied a bit...if it's a good one it's about the same animal as a Masi (which is a very good animal)...if it was built on a bad day you'd be better off looking elsewhere.
Otherwise, it's a little high...and if it doesn't fit: forget it.

Maybe the history, maybe the searching for an identity... for whatever reason they just don't get the market's attention.

Just for reference, I sold a very nice Pro Strada last spring on the local CL.
$425.
Similar build with a Dura Ace crank.
Very nice bikes, they ride beautifully.

Well, it's now almost 2014 and I'm wondering what the value of a Pro Strada frame set is these days.
Purple 51mm
Campy dropouts front & rear
Campy headset
Campy bottom bracket
Columbus tubing
Any opinions ???

These bikes appear to have been on a slow rising tide, but very slow.
Condition means so much.
The bottom bracket is good, but at market probably the same w/o, no logic to this, just how it goes.
Don't yank the headset though.
The majority were Columbus, so that is expected.
I don't think you have a $400 frame set though, closer to $250 TOPS. And it might sit at that price.

You most probably mean 51 cm. If measured center to center, probably a bit more than center to top.

I'll try to post a pic sometime tomorrow.
It will also come with a matching frame pump

The two tone paint and matching pump does increase its visual appeal. Wonder why the silver chainstay though.
Frist Medici I have seen that looks British.

That's a pretty nice example. I'd guess that you could get $400 (maybe $450?) for it on Ebay, but you'd end up giving back about $60 in fees.
CL would fetch you less, but would be less work. Price would greatly depend on where you live. $300 in a hot market, $200 in a slower one?
Good luck! That will make someone very happy!

It had a $400 asking with an extra set of wheels.
I think it sold for the parts.

Thanks for the valued opinions ... I have it out there on Ebay ... I'll let it sit there for a while to see what kind of action it raises.
