Eddy Merckx

Just got off the phone with the owner, he does not have any information on the bike (it's his brothers). He knows it has shimano components. He also stated the bike appears a 6/10 (a little rusty).

Is 500 a good price for this bike? I plan on checking it out tomorrow.

Maybe. It looks like Dura Ace 7410 cranks with 74XX derailleurs. What frame tubing does it have? I'd like to see better pics.

"A little rusty" = warning, warning, warning. Look at it and decide based on condition. I rarely if ever get good information from sellers. You have to be ready to chase after a few bad deals and walk away before you find a good deal. And the fact it is lasting over one day in LA tells me it is not a smokin hot deal (too many flippers would snap it up in a couple of hours if it was a great deal). But as an end user, you should be willing to pay closer to market price.

Does look worth looking into.

Note, clueless sellers can sometimes have the best deals.

what is the market price for this bike? Also, it does have dura ace gears, and steel tubing. He sent me better shots, didnt see signs of rust on the frame, but on the dura ace component. . if there is rust, what would be I offer as a price? What particular model is this bike?

I emailed the seller on that bike but it was already gone. $500 is a steal.

Next person who nags this forum for a valuation, and then sits on his tush hesitating on the deal should be obligated to make a $5 contribution to BF.

Both respondents told him to hesitate on the deal.

$500 is alot of money to commit to bike you know nothing about. If your inquiring about a bike in this sub forum it tells me you dont know much about it therefore its best to hold off.

+1 Despite the fact that it appears it ended being a very nice bike, with the description the seller gave there was no way of knowing. 6/10 and slightly rusty usually turns out to be a rust bucket, the seller greatly undervalued the condition of this bike.
