Univega Supra Sport - pictures included

I've been looking for a decent 80s road bike for commuting and tooling around on. I came across an Univega Supra Sport and it's in a little rough condition.

Components are Suntour AR derailers, Dia Compe side pull brakes, straight Araya alloy rims. Tires need to be replaced and as you can see in the pictures, there are lots of scratches on the chain stays and seat stays. He says everything spins smoothly.

He says he's firm on the $125 price. I'm a newb when it comes to this sort of thing - am I getting a decent deal after the work that's going to be required on it?

Thanks for any advice

Around here, that price is high due to the relatively poor condition. In normal markets, the seller will not be able to sell for that amount. Few buyers are interested in projects, and those that are interested in projects expect a large discount. If you paid someone to rehab that bike, you could spend $150 or more getting it road worthy.

Thanks for the response. I live in Chicago and prices seem to be a lot higher here than in other parts of the country but it sounds like this might be more of a project than I'm prepared to take on.
