Le Tour Luxe 12
Thought this bike had already been sold but I think it's out at a semi permant yard sale up the road again. Guy told me the first time I looked he'd take $100 for it. Came back a few weeks later and didn't tell him I'd looked before, just offered him $40 to start negotiating before asking the price. Railed that it was a $150 dollar bike then hemmed and hawwed about would never say that low and couldn't take any less than that when I told him he had asked $100 last time.
When I was looking around last time I determined this was probably a 1983 based on the Luxe 12 designation and the color (mettalic grey) Everything on it looks original and in good shape. I rode it and it seems to fit me, ride true, and shifted through all the gears except top end fine. Kept shifting back out of top end but I assume that's just an adjustment. No rust, dings etc.
Should I try and get him below $100 or is it a steal even at that price?

Hopefully it is still there: cromoly frame, alloy crankset, alloy rims. Nothing high end, but a good solid bike. Basically, its a couple of good steps above entry level. I would not call it a steal, but assuming it is clean and ready to go, its a good deal.

Need pictures to figure out the year. If there is a Columbus Tenax tubing sticker on it, yes, $100 is a steal. And even if it is not, for a rider with DB tubing, +1. $100 is a very good deal and it fits.

+1, If its your size and it's in good shape and you're looking for a keeper, you found it. Personally, I really like that metallic gray from that year. I had one that was too big for me so I sold it to another BF member who cleaned it up and gave it to his brother. Years later it was still going strong.

It was another bike, haven't caught him there but once and I couldn't stop then to look at the other one now that I have a clue what I'd see.
