Appraisal: Benotto Modelo 1800

Hi folks, I know very little about bikes so if I've missed some key information in my photos point me in the right direction and I can take some more. I was given this bike recently (a replacement for my old beater which was stolen) and am concerned that I might not be being careful enough with it. What I mean is, if it's worth a few hundred bucks I should probably invest in a new lock...

Pictures of my bike

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Invest in a new lock. I am not familiar with that model, but from what I see of components and frame material, bike is going to be worth enough to protect it.

Thanks for the advice, I did. To satisfy my curiosity, anyone else have an idea of this bike's value?

nice looking Benotto looks like an '86ish 87(?). I agree a good quality U lock is certainly in order if you live in MYC maybe an armed guard. not being a Benotto expert I would say depending on your location in super clean rideable condition that might fetch $250 for a Benotto fan a bit more.
