Yard sale bike

Hey I paid $5 for a ROSS Eurotour5. It is a woman bike, and as far as I can tell everything is original. Needs new tires and a good cleaning. I don't know alot about bikes (ok practically nothing) but I would like to get it up and running so I can ride it. Anyone know what it might be worth, or what a reasonable price would be to fix it up?

Not worth much. And be careful on the fix up, you could spend more than its worth. You could spend $100 or more getting it rehabbed at a shop (get an estimate first!). Without pics, as is, might be worth $10 to $40 or so. Fixed up, maybe $75 around here.

Project bikes are best suited to someone with the time/tools/and aptitude to do the work themselves. You can possibly find a home based mechanic to do the work for you. Around here, there are a couple that advertise in C/L.

OR, there is no reason you cannot fix this up yourself if you are interested in doing so. Google search Sheldon Brown's website or the Park tools website for lots of great how-to information. My pref is as they have videos with step-by-step instructions of how to do things. You will find cheap cables and tires at walmart, and better ones at your local bike shop.
