So I know someone who's thinking about getting this bike. I have this nasty feeling that the price is a bit steep. Am I right?

I wouldn't do it. If it was a real mixte and the ad was more descriptive and had better pics, I *might* consider it. Kinda looks like a model that should be going for about $50 to me, but really hard to tell with bad pics.

Seems over priced to me, but that is a much hotter market than the one I live in. If it is in really good shape, that would be $100 bike, give or take $20-30.

Around here, that is a $75 to $90 bike. But you are in San Fran, where pricing can be insane. Still, on women's style frames, I always go with a mixte.

I wish I could tell you that price is crazy, but unfortunately, the most I can say is, it's high. Bikes like that one are selling for over $100 around here. They're not worth it, but that's a topic for another thread. If it's in perfect condition and ride ready, try for under $150. Better still, try for a mixte like other's have said.
