10 speed Cannondale help.
 

Hi there all, my girlfriend and I are still on the hunt for a decent bike for her. This Cannondale just popped up on Kijiji and I know VERY little about the brand (which are good, which aren't?) plus the pictures are dark but anyone recognize the model? Have an idea of what it's worth?
Of course it's damn hard to tell from lack of drive side pictures.

Grab first, study later. This bike looks like it has been ****ered up quite a bit: flat bars, stem and levers are not original.

Turns out there was a little confusion with my GF and the sellers grandma, it hadn't been sold (another bike had) and she went and picked it up today. I don't know a thing about Cannondale's and the GF will probably be interested in SS'ing it. More info to come!

Check the serial number but it looks like an '86 or so ST500 series touring bike. wrk101 is correct about the non-original steering parts. In good clean original condition they run anywhere from 150 to 350 depending on location. She will either love or hate it. If she likes a nice firm ride she will love it.

very very stiff ride...unforgiving......get a good seat (maybe a suspended seat post) and good gloves....

She's getting a new saddle (the current one's some smelly gel monstrosity) , and attempting to get it up and running today (RD cage has a major bend in it) at the co-op. Fits her great , I'll pass the glove suggestion on.

edit: also NOT a ten speed, 12 with a granny gear.
